DOVER — A New Jersey woman was indicted last week for allegedly dispensing fentanyl that resulted in a Dover man’s death in February.

A Strafford County grand jury indicted Katarina Short, 29, of S. Delsea Drive in Clayton, New Jersey, for knowingly dispensing the Schedule II controlled drug fentanyl to Paul Moody, 33, of Dover on Feb. 25 in Dover, according to the document.

According to Dover police, rescue personnel were called to his residence on Mineral Park Drive that afternoon where they found Moody unresponsive. He was brought to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital where he died on Feb. 28, according to police.

If convicted, Short faces up to life in prison as a maximum punishment.

Short was also indicted in October for selling fentanyl to an undercover Strafford County Drug Task Force informant on Jan. 4 in Dover.

Short is scheduled to be arraigned on the death resulting charge in Strafford County Superior Court on Jan. 4 at 12:30 p.m.

An indictment means only a grand jury declared there was enough evidence to warrant a criminal trial.
