Hi,

I formatted my computer and after reinstallation of firefox(last version availible) and Greasemonkey, Greasemonkey do not work. I tried on my old comp and the scrypt still work.

Do we need a specific version of firefox in order to make it work?
esnow [FATS]
I don't think we're allowed to talk about scripts, but as far as I know *cough*, Greasemonkey works with the latest version of Firefox.

true i asked in a ticket about it and mods said they against the rules atm.
but if so they should seriously put it in the rules.

Tazz M2h himself made a topic about it 2 months ago (i think) same time as when he said about the new island being released

He said the current scripts are not harmful YET but could become harmful in the future

Well since he just made a post and is obviously online, why not clear it up once and for all by saying whether they are okay or not here now..
Tazz [Cyber]
Well, Myself and Many Many others will use Scripts until it is outlined in the Rules, that the are prohibited, Because to break a rule, it has to be a rule.

Section 3 - Bots and/or scripts

1. The use of bots to control your character is not permitted. Anyone found using them will risk having their account frozen.
2. User scripts are permitted however, on the grounds that:
a. They do not control your character or make it work by itself.
b. Any bugs or loss of account as a result of using scripts are not the responsibility of Syrnian game staff.

Can you point me in the direction of that thread please, I looked at the "Happy holidays" thread, Where the high leveled island is mentioned, and cannot find info on scripts there.

Its pretty old news that scripts aren't allowed.

Assuming you've read every script post you would know the following...

That they were being reconsidered as to whether or not to allow them.

While I haven't seen an official response here, according to the TL website userscripts have been banned. Coincidentally enough, the same wording was given to Wyks as a ticket as its the mod edit in this thread.

The rules need updating but I figure they are waiting til when they are really going to clamp down on scripts. At this point they haven't other than the discussion of them (which was banned quite a while ago while they were merely reconsidering scripts).

How do they know whos using them though?

EDIT:Urr im not gonna use them i dont ever use firefox XD

JFizzle [~DoS~]
It would be cool if he gave us permission to use certain ones only. Instead of banning all scripts, just legalize certain ones that have been tested and in no way are scripted for cheating.
Wayfarer [-TEK-]
i agree with jlock here, the main greasemonkey script is extremely useful and would help a great deal with some things especially the clan.

if we dont keep asking enough about this, the mods and m2h are never going to come to a decision.

yeah there are very cool scripts like clicking someones name to whisper.

Shouldn't this change have been added to the rules and the conflicting ones removed?

"If" M2H said that why didn't he post when he was online today then?

"#We will not be punishing all old script users just yet."

The "just yet" in that sentence sounds fairly ominous :O

Or make the Game more User friendly and remove the need for scripts all together *Yes*

But yes, Update the Rules Please.

I agree with JLock, it should be made that players are allowed to use the Syrnia minor tweaks and Syrnia item info scripts because they add so many features that are very useful and are completely harmless.

This must be another "unwritten rule"...you gotta love them. I'll continue to use the current script i have until it is a real rule, and not just the preference of a few staff members.

This reminds me of a player who got punished for making 2 trade chat posts for 2 separate items.... example...

14:59 PlayerX: Selling 3k iron ore, will accept gold, wood, or food in trade. Whisper me offers.
14:59 PlayerX: Also buying Wood and food, up to 3k hp.

A moderator actually punished this player for that...because it was considered "spam" by "cluttering up trade chat"...

Again, this is not a rule, Simply 1 mods preference. I think "personal preferences" need to be done away with, and Mod needs to stick to One Set of Rules as opposed to allowing each mod to have his/her own preference as to how a rule is construed.

@Genezen: it is M2H's word, as you can read in the moderator edit. Also, this was on TLbase ages ago, so to all non-believers: I told you so.

@Wyks: I have no doubt that this was said, But the problem is, It is not in the rules. They expect us to follow rules that are non-existent, And to know rules some have never seen before.

As soon as i see it in the rule book, I'll gladly remove my script...But when i click that little link on the bottom right side of my screen that says "Rules"...and i scroll down a bit to about Section 3.2, And i read the words

"User scripts are permitted however, on the grounds that:
a. They do not control your character or make it work by itself.
b. Any bugs or loss of account as a result of using scripts are not the responsibility of Syrnian game staff."

Well, That tells me its perfectly OK. As soon as it is a real rule and not just spoken word from someone, I'm sure many will be happy to oblige. Until then, I'll enjoy my 1 click whispering/messaging

a. They do not control your character or make it work by itself.

Can nobody that actually controls this game see the idiocy of claiming that scripts are banned while still having that entry in the rules section? It seems very obvious to me.

Do we really have to rely on third party websites to find out the current rules for this game? No matter how good the reputation of the third party site is, it is superceded by the rules listed within the game itself.
