| Lady R, a Piratey question or three if I may.
I'll use the recent successful invasion of Xanso as an example (since it's what made me wonder if I understood the way this works correctly).
An invasion of X number of roughnecks invaded Xanso & managed to capture the town, at which point they multiplied considerably (I don't know how many were in the initial invasion, since I missed the beginning of it).
My questions are:
1) Is the multiplier effect of a successful invasion consistent, or is it random (I've always assumed random) and 1b) If it's random, have you ever tracked the range of the multiplier, or come up with an average for it?
2) This sort of refers back to Q1 I guess, but I'll ask separately. I've always thought that the sequence was something like: Pirates feed the stockpile, create an invasion force, attack, wait for the results & any reward. Do you only "pay for" (through the stockpile) the initial attack, or do you also pay for the "multiplied forces" that follow on if the town is captured.
3) Is the reward for pirates for a successful invasion connected to anything beyond the initial success? In other words, does the size of the (multiplied) occupying force and/or the length of time it holds a town have any impact on the total loot split by the pirates? |
vampkitty13 26-03-2007 20:42
| I know the answer to number 2. We don't pay for the multiplied forces, just the initial. |

| Don't know about question 1...
"2) This sort of refers back to Q1 I guess, but I'll ask separately. Pirates only pay for the initial force, the multiplied extras are freebies.
"3) Is the reward for pirates for a successful invasion connected to anything beyond the initial success? In other words, does the size of the (multiplied) occupying force and/or the length of time it holds a town have any impact on the total loot split by the pirates?"
Rewards are given at the time of initial success, time the town is held thereafter and amount of pirates arriving when multiplication occurs have no effect upon the returns given to the pirates. "When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice."

I've always thought it was a fixed amount it multiplies by, but i shall be looking into it once i return to skull in a few weeks.
So i can fill in more information to the guide. "Mr. Cotton. Do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death?"

ladyraven143 27-03-2007 00:28
| you need to look again... it's been added for about two days "Mr. Cotton. Do you have the courage and fortitude to follow orders and stay true in the face of danger and almost certain death?"

Farad 02-05-2007 19:07
| ok my question is how often do invasions happen if I wanna join up and head over to skull? Sitting around waiting for that and not managing to get anything else accomplished seems somewhat unapealing |
Ds7s 02-05-2007 19:27
| the invasions happen when the stockhouse is full and when the captain says so
most of the time if you watch chat someone will say theres an invasion happening |
Wolflord468 02-05-2007 19:36
| Here's a little not-so secret. The maximum time between invasions is 14 days. "When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice."

| I have two questions:
1: Can you reach Ogre without going through the Outlands?
2: What determines how much -fame you get after an invasion?
Thanks,
JLock |
VipersLFC 09-06-2007 19:49
| Answers
1- Still need to go thru OL to get to ogre caves
2- How much you donate towards the invasion or work in the stockhouse cooking , smelting etc. |
JLockmavs 09-06-2007 19:51
| do you know the -fame gained per donation or per cooking, etc.?
Thanks again |
Rudilyn 09-06-2007 19:54
| No, because it's a complex calculation, involving how many of each type of pirates built, how many donations received, what type and value of donations received, how many pirates survived, etc., and no doubt there is a random factor in one or more of these elements as well. 'Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt. -Abraham Lincoln |
JLockmavs 09-06-2007 20:11
| okay, Thanks y'all. |
Kenneth283 10-06-2007 17:02
| Bout the being able to have to trai in ogre outpost, you don't need to go there anymore for training. The monsters in Jungles Edge and Deep Jungle on Serpenthelm are a great way to increase your combat levels provided you are above level 10. To be able to fight well in Deep Jungle I recommend a combat level of 20 or higher because of the levels of the monsters which are 20+. |
