| 1) please drop wood jobs from being an option for koban jobs
my suspicion is that the players / clans that have tons of wood don't bother with these jobs, and they (understandably) won't sell the wood at a price that players who do them will buy
2) only if wood is dropped, increase the number of bars required for just the obby jobs
as a reasonably sized smith, gold bars have plenty of uses ; i didn't bother smelting plat bars unless i actually needed them for something ; only bothered with smelting syriet for a few levels ; and i have over 10k obby bars that there is no market for
if the koban jobs were more of an obby bar sink, i might do them more ; as they stand now, i seldom bother because there are way too many wood jobs and not enough obby ones for the ridiculousness of arch 3 travel

| No, wood is a great option for a sink on these jobs. If more people did them you would realize you can average 1-1.5 gp per wood, just gotta put the time in. [2]10:45 Cradle[TLO]: Dont forget the part where the Pond guy sells the boat for Pond prices, back to the previous owner. ;)

| The wood jobs are the only thing making these jobs OP. Even the wood is pretty good profit. If anything, Id rather the gem rewards be changed to better gems and drop the koban summoning orb, but again, that makes these jobs even more rewarding than they already are. As SS says, its really the only wood sink too, its needed, and doesnt even put much of a dent in the wood out there. Proud leader of Squeaky Clean

| it's only a good wood sink if players who have wood come and do the jobs ; i doubt that's the case ; i'm sure the devs can see the stats ; but i bet brom's doubloons are (or could be) a much better wood sink than arch 3 will ever be ; of course, that won't happen either if the players / clans with wood don't participate in either one
and i am more interested in an obby bar sink ; there are currently no other ones that are even somewhat economical (certainly not donating to the barracks)

| Sounds like you have a stockpile of obsidian bars and want to make profit out of them. The last thing this game needs is more inflation. [2]10:45 Cradle[TLO]: Dont forget the part where the Pond guy sells the boat for Pond prices, back to the previous owner. ;)

| *scratches head*
this game has an oversupply of almost everything at this point (which means deflation, not inflation) ; so how would this cause "more" inflation? |
Aquadark [CLEAN] 02-09-2024 18:41
| Not always, although there's almost oversuply of everything inflation can kick in on specific goods.
EDIT:
As you said yourself,
please drop wood jobs from being an option for koban jobs
my suspicion is that the players / clans that have tons of wood don't bother with these jobs, and they (understandably) won't sell the wood at a price that players who do them will buy
That's where inflation kicks in, players expect to be paid more for wood, although it can be gathered pretty quickly. People have money, so why they should not pay for wood more etc.

| Speed is a factor in Trading in this game.
Sell your wood to a player for 0.7gp ea
OR
Do Arch 3 jobs for roughly 1.25gp ea
Both are viable and worth doing. There isn't a 'Wrong' Answer
But the big factor in anything game related is speed.
Selling to Eully market is instant.
Swapping items or moving items into wealth must be a slow process that takes time.
The faster that process is then the lower the profit should be.
Hence why you can use arch 3 jobs to trade obsidian bars like 2 at a time into 10k gp..
But because of the timeframe required it does not increase the price of obsidian bars
There's more to think about that just 'swap item' rock tree smash.. it's all interlooped and connected This is a silly fourm siggy |

| I've never really heard anyone praising the Koban jobs, a couple times complaining though (a few now.) I took one and looked at the requirements and the reward then was like "nope, not coming back here." There is a kind of mushroom that when eaten once will feed a man for the rest of his life.
I'm going to live forever, or die trying.

| hmm, selling to eully is usually because there is otherwise no player demand ; the only item i am aware that sells more to eully than to players is bronze hammers
and while selling to eully is instant, accumulating the items to sell to eully isn't
so, if you include both the time to sell plus the time to accumulate, it's a pretty slow process
and obby bars sell to eully for 0 ; so that slow process of accumulating obby bars gets you an instantaneous el zippo ; so, meh |
