| My grandpa Wendell Scott Blankenship, Cancun to most of you, passed away earlier today. I'm finding out as of 10 minutes ago so when I have more info I'll update this post.
Edit: Cancun passed unexpectedly in his hospital room after a long battle with dementia. He was the smartest man I knew and a role model to everyone that knew him. While he was mentally gone for a while he did still have small moments of clarity to remind us he was in there still.
Cancun very much enjoyed watching Game of Thrones, partially because it was always new and exciting to him in his later years. He also spent many years in this game and made a lasting impression on many long time players. He may have quit playing long ago but I know he remembered you fondly.
Cancun is survived by his Wife, 3 children, and 8 grand children.
I'll update again when I have a link for a memorial post you all can write to.

| That is a horrible loss. He was one of my earliest acquaintances here and really taught me a lot, both as a player and as a mod. He was a great guy and kind hearted from what I knew of him. He will be missed.

| I'm so sorry, Cancun was a good buddy of mine and so very kind. I'm happy to have shared a few beers with him and EvilEddy downstairs watching sports at his house. Truly a huge loss to this world, he was a king among men yet caring and humble. If there is something better in the afterlife I have no doubt he's there.
