Okay, not that serious. The title is just to grab your attention. I hope it can be taken in good humor.

Seriously though, I am asking in good faith with hope for bettering the community for more transparency and consistency in moderation and in managing events.

Here is a copy of demands borrowed from FTP (Fight The Power) mission statement:

Of moderation -

Consistency: I believe uniform rules for how/why moderation is applied will provide a better experience for both players and staff. It is confusing for players when one mod is okay with something and another is not. It can lead to repeat offenses. It can lead to discord between players and staff. A lack of uniform rules/guidelines can lead to making decisions on personal bias where rules aren't clear or well defined, both in mods executing punishments and players when deciding behaviors.

Transparency: I believe more transparency will assist in improving and shaping the atmosphere and environment. A lack of transparency can lead confusion and repeat offenses. When moderation is decided, it is paramount that the reasoning is understood by the offending parties. A lack of uniform rules can make this difficult. It might be difficult for the offending party to avoid transgressions if they don't understand the reasoning behind punishments. I understand you're human beings and you're doing the best you can, and that communication is a 2 way street, and that the offending party must be open to understanding as the staff on duty must be open to explaining. I ask for the sake of the community that when punishments are given that the staff make every effort to explain the reasoning behind your actions, and recognize my responsibility to keep an open mind.

Event Management:

It is a common perception that the npc isn't as random as it could be. Oftentimes it is noted by multiple parties that the npc favors certain individuals and locations. I don't know how much of this perception is the result of confirmation bias, poor AI, or personal choices of event mod. Regardless of the reason, this perception does exist. Ask yourself if the game would be better if we could find a way to defeat this perception, and if so, how shall we go about it?

More random/balanced chases could be achieved through improved AI for the npc to ensure that prizes are issued in a more random and balanced way. Locations for npc and types/locations of mobs/events could also be improved by better AI. Another option is a set of uniform guidelines for how prizes are distributed and locations are chosen, and which mobs go where. I don't know the process of the npc or events, or how much control the event mod has over them - but I would ask staff to consider the opportunity to reduce the potential of personal bias, whether through programming AI or a set of rules to guide event mod in managing holidays and other events.

Agreed for moderation, completely disagreed with event management. As stated in your other thread, it seems you don't entirely understand how random works, and there really is no way to make the NPC more "fair" in a random system.

You want to defeat the broken rng perception? Do so with the knowledge and understanding that such a limited data set over the course of a couple of holiday days doesn't portray how the entirety would in a much broader data set.

I couldn't agree more to the moderation part.

Too much biased attitude from most part of the moderation team towards a part of the Syrnian community. Some rules apply for some and others can do whatever they want.

Intentionally or unintentionally they are destroying the current community.

My world chat is disabled due to the Idiotic and Senseless things people do and then cry about getting muted for, not because of the game staff... That alone to me speaks volumes over the long preambles and bullet point type Main Post.

Maybe some people in the game should take a second and look at themselves and figure out if the issue is the Problem, or if the problem is the way you go about the "Issue".

RNG is as non bias as you can get, before you can accuse something of being broken or being Bias/Favoritism, you need to fully understand how something works. As a mechanic I don't replace the Engine in the Car solely because I turn the key and it doesn't come on...

Finally the ending- The Advise Section

My advice to you would be to research the parts of the game that you believe to be flawed(One at a time not multiple). Then once you have the data, the knowledge of how it works, Come up with a Better idea for the "Issue at hand". submit a feedback post about that one issue and how you think would be the best resolution. Check out the responses. send the finished product to Dev team, or whoever (Borneo for all it matters to me, hear he's got a little weight around here)

Best of Luck on your Mission to Fix the problems you see,

Rich

Rich: your reasons for turning off world chat seem perfectly valid for me; however, it also limits your input. Some of these issues you have no grounds to speak on, because your world chat is turned off. All I can say is I've seen some questionable mutes/punishments... punishments that seemed just plain silly on the mods end. I admit my assessment of silly could be due to lack of understanding. If you haven't seen any, it's probably because your world chat is off (entirely your choice, as long as you understand what you're choosing). Also, because of Rules: Section 8 Item 4, I cannot question these issues without risking punishment myself. So the system appears at first glance to be engineered to not only allow abuse but to enable it to be hidden/covered up quickly.

Regarding your second statement, I agree 100%. I believe the community will be better served if everyone stops for a moment to see how things work.

Regarding RNG, I respectfully disagree. I don't need to understand complex mechanics to see that random drops aren't random. All I need to do there is watch for a pattern. Perhaps this is something you also miss out on with world chat off.

As for advices, you make some thoughtful suggestions. I do agree more research could be beneficial, however the access to data needed to prove my points and make good suggestions is largely kept from me. Until Game Staff is willing to publicly release drops/pools or discuss the process by which events are selected or when one player gets a different punishment for another, I don't know where to go for research. However, I am building an area of clan forums to collect/centralize data relevant to these topics; hopefully in time my information will grow and I'll be better equipped to make better suggestions.

Johnny Walker,

For the last year of my 3.5 years on this account its been turned off(I still have Pirate Chat on), so your are correct I may not be fully up to date, But im a believer that Every voice matters no matter how small so I personally feel i have the right to give my input, You just have to judge how much it weighs.

I can only say i have been Muted 4 times, and all 4 times it was explained to me why i was being muted and i could tell i clearly broke the rule i was charged with breaking.

To fix the issue you must understand the way something is built was all i was trying to say about the mechanics of it, so in a way yes you do need to understand the complex mechanics or Team up with someone who does, so you'll know if what your wanting to do is even Possible or Feasible.

Do you build the road around the mountain, up the mountain or through the mountain?

I wish you good luck on your journey and Hope the grass is greener on the other side

Rich

P.S.
Create a Fan Site and you will get access to a lot more content that will help you, and everyone will be thankful im sure if you launched a TLG 2.0

Rich; I can agree you should be able to share your opinions as you are open minded enough to concede that your knowledge of current affairs may be limited with world chat closed. That's transparent enough to encourage people to draw their own conclusions. By the same process, I should be able to share my opinions of possible issues of the NPC if I can acknowledge the limitations of my understanding.

As for building roads, the choice depends on the destination. Do you want to get over the mountains or take in the view from the top?

A fan site is an interesting suggestion. While I don't think I could ever replace TLGrounds, I've decided to attempt to take advantage of your suggestion.

I am left to assume you are referring to the API, which is no longer being provided to players. The manual is also being revamped in an effort to make third-party websites obsolete after a previous incident of harassment through the means of a fansite.
