Two things,

Firstly, make the spades needed whilst harvesting a crop to actually give them a further use.

Secondly and most importantly, if someone decides to orb a location cancel the current timer on someone’s harvesting or prevent an orb from being dropped in the first place if farming is being done at a specific location. Example; I just wasted 1500 seconds harvesting a crop only to come back and find out someone had dropped an orb so I had to restart the entire 1500 second harvest timer.

A small fix not entirely used by everyone but very important for those who do farm. Even if it just cancels the timer so they can see that it’s not still counting down.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

Not as easy to do if like me you have 5 farms.

When I brought up stopping the timer years ago, the coder at the time (Hazgod) and M2H both said it wouldn't be done. Just gotta live with it.

Spades should be needed for both harvesting and planting, something Hazgod was going to put in the game before he quit.
Why would I shoot a bloke BANG, then carry him to the bloody car and wizz him off to the hospital at a hundred miles an hour? It defeats the purpose of having shot him in the first place.

guess it is not happening, since creature orbs block other skills or combat actions. It would not make much sense to just spare farming

If you turn on Region chat, you'll see when orbs are dropped and where.
Guests are reminded that Platform One forbids the use of weapons, teleportation and religion.

My felicitations upon this historical happenstance. I bring you the gift of bodily salivas.

Greensky - Orbs are posted in region chat. But mod invasions you only discover at the end of your work timer. What Lost and I have suggested at 2 different times is, if the location gets invaded that the farming or other large timer stops. At level 1 farming the timer is 1800 seconds, that's a maximum of half any hour to wait only to discover that you can't complete the action.

Maybe have an "check" built into the skill timer that stops the timer should your location be invaded. Every 2 mins maybe?

"The town is currently being invaded! You are forced to abandon your crops and may continue once the invasion is over"

Timer resumes from where it was paused. No idea whether that could be coded, but I agree it is not right in its current format.

Sheep - that could be the message generated after the "check" I mentioned above is done. Fishing, mining, woodcutting, cooking, smithing and construction all have big timers, so it would have to apply to all those skills too

Some long processes do make sense that they can be halted mid way through without consequence and picked up where they left off.

Farming for example, if you are planting something, when you stop you don't generally need to plow the entire field again and replant half of what you have already done. Smithing a weapon, if you have started to work the metal then you may need to get it back up to temperature to make it workable but it doesn't need you to redo the whole bar process again.

Unfortunately some processes don't work too well halted. Fishing tends to be a game of patience and removing the net/rod from the water and retrying again later seldom guarantees you will get anything quickly since you have waited a while already. And leaving things half cooked isn't usually a good thing either.

The idea of allowing some processes to be stopped for whatever reason and picked up again within a short time frame isn't a bad shout.
