Can someone explain why those are as much rare as this right now??

Anyone responsible of the update can explain me the idea behind that?

The Scroll of Thieves is even rarer. Let's get an explanation on that one as well.

(I will speak for mining scroll only, as this one affects me). The first months only a few of those dropped. So the people that had them as a drop or were rich enough to buy them got a great advantage over the rest of Syrnians (both the safe syriet exp and the bloodstone ores are way too overpowered of an advantage to be given to only a few players). Then, when we all thought that we would have a chance on getting them over the time, they practically turned their drop rate off. So, now they are not only overpowered, but they have a monopoly too.
So, to answer your question, the idea of the developers behind this is probably that only a few chosen ones should have access to some aspects of Syrnia gameplay. The rest of us should just accept it and sit back seeing the injustice going on.

yes, well put Baspall. It's not very nice this update. We've been over it many times. Wonder what the devs have actually planned ? xD

Yo, Baspall.

"they practically turned their drop rate off. So, now they are not only overpowered, but they have a monopoly too."

You gonna cite your sources? Other than, "I haven't gotten one after all this time so that means they lowered the drop rate".

It's been quite a while since anybody has reported a mining or ancient wood scroll drop. Except for a couple of shopping scrolls, the past dozen or so have been palace scrolls. At the very least, it's very apparent that their drop rate has been reduced substantially in relation to the palace scrolls being dropped.

I simply believe they increased the drop rate for Palace scrolls and kept it the same for the rest of them.

I obtained a mining scroll with relative ease (fighting gnomes at Valera if anyone is interested in the drop location), within a few weeks of them being added. I didn't advertise this fact or offer the scroll for sale, in fact this is the first time I have mentioned it outside of my clan.

This leads me to the conclusion that not only is it simple RNG luck and nothing more sinister going on here, but also that it is very risky to assume that the only scrolls that have dropped are ones you have personally heard about. There are likely more out there that nobody was aware of except those in close contact with the recipient.

I expect as time goes by and more come on to the market that things will even out, perhaps even to the point were the scrolls become almost valueless, and access will be more inclusive. While I understand the complaints of content being effectively blocked to most players, I do think it is worth pointing out that the basic mechanics of a rare drop access system make it inevitable that this will not be forever and unless a cap is put on the number of scrolls in the game then this will gradually become less of an issue.

Last reported mining and woodcutting scroll drops were in July. Crowding at Mt Tirnus hasn’t changed for any of the past 5, 6 or 7 Tuesdays in a row, always hitting 11-12 max.

Edit: this is also without delving into the apparent bloodstone ore drop rate “tweak/nerf”.

Pendragon

As we don't have access to the items dropped nor any communication from the dev team people can only go off what they see but for the mining scroll:

As stated above the crowding at Mt Tirnus has not changed for a number of weeks now. Either they're dropping and people are just dumping them in storage and not using (strange for an item worth 3-4 million GP) or more likely, they just are not dropping anymore and haven't been for quite a number of weeks.

Miknah

Most of the above comments relate to the fact the scrolls appear to have stopped dropping (other than palace), which your point sort of backs up considering you got your scroll some time ago back when they were dropping (You lucky so and so )

I have to agree, I don’t see any mining/woodcutting scrolls dropped anymore (I would assume not at all, but I don’t know that for sure) the last few weeks. Tons of squirrels and palaces and some shopping.

Surely if someone got something spectacular like mining/woodcutting scrolls, they’d say something by now with everyone guessing the mining/woodcutting scroll drops are turned off. Most players have been willing to share information on their getting one, granted there may be some who got them and didn’t say anything.. but for weeks? No one?

I agree with Baspall 100%. The scroll mechanic has made the game so unbalanced for the chosen few who get access to the locked features, that it's unreal. The more and more weeks that pass the less balanced it is for the rest of us who can't get to the syriet mine or get the ancient wood.

The staff is intent on keeping us in the dark on their logic with why this update was released the way it was, so I am sucking it up and dealing with it. I will say though that I will no longer be donating to this game until I have the same access as the other members of the community, so maybe in 8 or 9 years I will donate again when I manage to get all 4 scrolls.

Smitts, yeah understand your point there but my issue is still with the proof that they have stopped dropping. How does anyone know that? There are comments above suggesting who would possibly obtain a drop without saying? Well my point was I did, none of you knew this and I don't expect I am the only one. I don't get how people seem to assume outright that they know what's happening in every account in the game. Unless staff have come out and said they have killed the drop rate, put a cap on scroll numbers, or nerfed the rate severely, then it could just be coincidence.

Tbh I think a better solution here would be to put a "loan" feature in trades, so items can be loaned out for a set time, I personally would share my scroll if I had some security against being scammed, but do not want to part with it long term. A small tweak like that would go a long way to smoothing out these issues of access I think.

Is it time then to add up a players's petition??

And also, for the few clan that get this current monopoly (and you know who they are...), can we, as a community, stick together rating all our trade with 'em at 150-200% the current price of thier needs while dev staff have time to open their ears, eyes and minds to see there is a real trouble with all this mess??

Anyway, won't pretend to make things change here, but with the force of the group related to the little few players that play in here weekly (doubt we're more than 500 players around nowadays), I guess things could be set for a certain pleasure of playing.

Just on my side, with this total inequity (which I gave time to see if things changing, which appear not), I'm becoming selfish and won't open borders to trades as somekind of a ripping off is actually occuring and feeding clans that draining others ressources at cheap price VS the top gps made over few important developped things that only 'em got access....! A drain in a one way profitability...!

Sorry for the actual feelings, for the record, I dropped my playtime in a half since july coz of it (just playing maximum 30-35 hours a week now). And most of you will surely say : "I don't matter, anyway Marsular the baby is a dumb and if he leaves I don't care", which is ok. But I seriously lowering down my playing time and might leave as the rythm of frustration is again growing and growing since.... A game is build to lend some fun imo, lend some challenge and possible way to stay unique in the way we want to developp and become, at some point, a name we remember....!

The game was faboulous, always have super great time here (more with encounters I met and fabulous persons that I got the chance to talk with) and gave me many goals over the years, but now, I must say, I got no more goals, even no more challenge to try to keep me entertain.

I could only say that the only thing that could, at least, make a little light and reduce the frustration, is for dev teams to communicate more....! (Simple, but still refusing to do so for a reason I found now useless)

I guess this is all somekind of a Syrnia's Covid-19 thing (similar to the real life anger that is growing around from country to country) and the way to fix things is also similar to actual governments actings. Peeps complaining, I don't care, we're the governement! What's the plan to communicate, we don't care, we're the governement! You complain again and suggest us things to do, we don't care, we're the governement. If you still not confortable, just leave or shut your mouth!!!

Thx to have read me, I got tons on the heart for my love to Syrnia, it was surely unecessary, but I had to do this to try, in all that situation, to figure out a way to feel better!

Miknah, since you seem to believe that it is all a coincidence please explain how the crowding at the hidden mine has remained static for months. When it was increasing previously as people was getting the scroll. Also, that mine gives out the only source of safe syriet and an unique resource that allows to make the top tier metal.

I just gave my opinion that there is no conclusive evidence of the rate having changed. I have a scroll but am short of the level to use it, but am holding it for the future. So I do not contribute to the crowding. Doesn't mean I don't have a scroll because I am not there does it?

Anyway, I'm not interested in getting into arguements, believe what you like.

I Disagree 100%. I have offered a few people to buy their scrolls and they say it isn't worth it and its going in their house or to start the quest and then stash the scroll in a house.

Just like any "rare" item, you have collectors who are going to stash it in their house rather than use it or allow people to use it.

Gaining an advantage over others(i.e mining safe syriet for wikid gains) is okay if its an intended game mechanic, however anything else outside of scrolls isn't.

Like Miknah has stated, Some people probably haven't announced they have scrolls, noticed them, or have the level to use them so it makes sense that they would stash them in a house.

Just because the crowding at that mine hasn't increased, does not mean the scrolls have stopped dropping. Personally i havent gotten any scrolls yet but if i did have the mining one i would tuck it away for a clannie to use at there leisure, I guess my point is that not everyone who gets the scroll can use it, so I don't see how the crowding at the mine has indicated that they no longer drop.

And I can see why others may not want to announce that they have gotten them, between players trying to force a trade or the grief that some people have received for obtaining them.
