Firstly let me thank all of the players who forwarded Mod feedback which contained some good suggestions which the Mod team and I have been looking at. I do not want to go into specifics however we have made some changes to try and improve the service we offer, and in addition the Mod team would like to make a couple of announcements:

Mod recruitment
The Syrnia team have been discussing new ways of recruiting players to the Mod team and are going to trial another method to see if we can unearth some hidden talent to join our team.
Should the trial become successful we may make the decision to use it again in future recruitments.
In the first instance players should contact SYRAID via a PM to register interest in the post. We would ask that users only apply if they meet the following criteria:
  • Have been a Syrnia player for 1 year+

  • A mature player

  • Good at working alone and as part of a team

  • Able to commit to a very minimum 2 Hours Mod work per day (average)

  • Have excellent communication skills

  • Once we have received applications we will make some basic checks before sending out application forms for the next stage of recruitment. Closing date for registering your interest is 8th March 2009. And you should only include the following details:-
  • Game Name:

  • Time playing the game (This should be copy/ pasted from your stats)
  • Example:
You have been playing Syrnia for 9771 hours and 42 minutes.
You joined syrnia 1257 days ago, you were player number 6164.
  • Estimated Time available to dedicate to Mod/ day (average).

  • Your Location and time zone.

  • Please entitle your message Mod application

  • Focus Groups
The game team already have a number of updates in the pipeline, however we have seen some great ideas from players with regards game updates and so are looking to introduce some focus group who will discuss the future of the game, looking specifically at how we progress particular skill areas. Any person who completes an application to become a member of the focus group should first recognize that this is a temporary position and that suggestions made may not necessarily be implemented. If you will be upset IF/ WHEN ideas are not implemented then please do not apply.

If you would be interested in such a role please send a message to SYRAID. Entitle your message Focus Group. Please briefly outline in your application which skill, and what changes you would make in less than 150 words

Places are limited, however as the positions are on a temporary basis there may be a chance for those not successful to get involved at a later date. Again applications must be in by 8th March 2009

    Mod team

OK, The deadline has passed. Thanks for all who applied. We will get back to all within the week.

The Mod team have now sent out application forms to those applicants who have reached the next stage of the Mod recruitment. If you applied for a position but have not received a message from the Mod team then your application has not been successful. Due to the sheer numbers involved in the process we will not be giving individual feedback as to reasons why they have not made the next stage. It is important to note that just because you were unsuccessful on this occasion does NOT mean that you will be unsuccessful in any future Mod applications.
    Thank you for time

    Mod team.
