Something I've noticed about Rynir Mines in particular (haven't tested this at other mines) is that the number of other players working is determinate by which ore you're gathering.

For example, if there are 10 people mining at Rynir; 5 of them mining Iron, 4 of them mining Copper, and 1 mining Tin ore.

This gets reflected accordingly as shown by the "There are _ others working here" prompt.

To clarify further on that example, if you go to mine iron the game will show 5 others mining, if you mine copper the game shows 4, if you mine tin the game shows 1 other person working (Which I believe this to be logical and a great example for how the rest of the skills should follow) suit.

I've personally observed the opposite of this logic when smelting or smithing at Endarx, Kinam, Aunna and Web Haven. Put into the context of the previously given example, say there 5 people smelting iron, and 5 smelting copper. The game shows this as 10 other people working at the same location, albeit with different resources and requisites.

The same goes for locations that offer specific combat creature training: so at Valera if there are 5 others fighting gnomes, it shows the same 5 others when you fight giant spiders (or rats if youre still that level). Fishing has the same issue at lisim, ogre lake, and otis lake (an OL locations) where the crowding is the same whether you're fishing with a rod or a net.

I think the crowding mechanic should be adjusted to reflect how it operates at Rynir Mines, and separates crowding by which specific action is being played.

Thoughts, comments, feedback?

I think that would be a great change!

I think the distinction as it stands makes sense, you would have a different Mine shaft for the different ore types so the crowding being split to a "shaft" or ore reflects this.

When it comes to smelting/smithing you have a forge or an anvil, it doesn't matter which metal you are working on the space would be the same.

Same with Fishing, the lake is finite in it's size, you would still be getting in each others way so to speak.

No change required here in my opinion

Cooking and Smithing are similar in this regards.

It doesn't matter what the processing is you still have crowding.
This is a silly fourm siggy
