| Nah, reading history to see some of the spicy political talk is entertaining. And some can have perfectly reasonable adult convos on the topic without getting riled up. If you dont want to take part or cant handle it you always have option to disable world, ignore it, or use iggy.

| Who decides what politics are? Does the mod on duty decide? What if the people making/enforcing the rules decide that discussing rent/grocery prices, news headlines, celebrity deaths, state of war, etc. constitute politics? I can understand wanting to avoid divisive topics, but is banning a nebulous topic that can have subjective boundaries the way forward?

Someone reads half a headline and comments on the topic like they are a 6 degree PHD Expert on the matter.
people with more understanding correct them
the person who was corrected will then start attacking their stance, their political beliefs, their race, their gender, their existence.
The person who is attacked then retaliates.
and it becomes a pissing in the wind contest.
Do not ban the topics just silence the people >_>
EDIT* By silence I mean just iggy the same people that turn these conversations sour*
its like that old saying, a gun does not kill someone its the person pulling the trigger.
the issue is not the topics.
this community could take the most harmless topic in existence and turn it into an argument and a war.
