At the moment if I build a house for someone I have to put it up for sale for them to get it. I think you should be able to transfer it direct to the player you want to have it.

My current case in point is I have just built a house for a clannie. They cant afford to pay the true price for the house so I have to list it at a very cheap price. This gives someone else the opportunity to buy it.

Agreed, just like the fact you cannot build a house for a clannie in a location where you have a house already...

To be fair though, selling to a clannie at a low price is not really that big an issue, just wait til they are in the same location, put it for sale for 1gp and they can grab it right away, the chance of some random clicking on houses for sale and snapping it up before your clannie at that precise moment is practically zero

Agreed - timing with whispers can make turnover so fast its unlikely anyone else will get in. That said, I did build a house once that got sniped in the one or two seconds it was up for sale.

If you set a higher price - that's less likely to happen. If your clannie doesn't have the gold, loan it to them (meet at tp first - give them e.g. 5K gold) Meet at house site, set price for 5K gold. You get the gold back, odds of sniping almost zero.

I have more problems with someone wanting a smaller house where I already have a big one (esp. with farm) so bother to find 3rd person to 'hold' it - This is going to be more problem at popular towns, or maybe new islands with only one or two places to build. Everyone wants their house in the same place.

What about a feature that can allow you to build up a "portable house/shop" as an item that the player could acquire and put at the place he would like to?

Like small houses that can be deployed at ease transfered via a traditional TP as an item? Just like boats, which also are heavy to carry on a player shoulder via inventory, hahaha!

Just a brainstorm here, might have tons of hatred from that post, but, an idea here!

*Would love to see in trade chat : WTS 5 portable 100k slots houses W/M!*

LOL

Would require at least level 10 construction level to implement at a place you can build a house though!

Mars, that would also provide a solution to constructors that can't build their own houses at major ports and housing locations so they can build for others. I like it.

Honestly would be the easiest solution, if you don't care for realism (I mean we carry Long Boats in our pocketsesss, so...)

+1 absolutely Mars

I think Marsular has hit the jackpot on this idea. It solves all the problems and requires very little coding extra as it fits with the design the game already has.

It would, of course, need an assembly process for the player to "unbox" it with requirements such as timers to assemble the walls and roof and such or as a whole. Could also had few iron bars (10% of the wood cost price) for the nails or any other things you feel fair to add up. Maybe 10% rocks too or anything similar to actual stockhouses.

My idea would require, at least, level 10 (for exemple) or 25 to be able to perform the assembly part. The item could be like a "house/shop in a box" that could be deployed where there is a spot you can build and also will require the hammer to do so.

To avoid unbalancing too much the game, let's say the one who craft a "house/shop in a box" would see his craft level lower than the actual level required to aim for the desired house/shop. Or would need 15%+ wood to match the desired product.

Exemple on the minus level to perform the item, let's say someone would want to build a "house in a box" having 75k slots (which is usually level 65), it would require a level 75 to perform it adding up for the next kind of house. Making the project less attractive than building a regular ones with the advantage to transfert it and let another player decide what he would do with that item whenever and wherever it would want it implimant for him. It would also give the advantage for the "house in a box" crafter not to destroy or sell a current built house where another would need that 75k slot.

The other exemple could apply on the +15% (exemple, maybe 25% or else) in wood cost to allow not unbalance the game too much. So for the same 75k slot "house in a box" would then need 51750 wood.

Maybe, adding to that, the person who will craft this "house/shop in a box" would be required to be at schools where you can study for construction at the right university (levels matching for the project) via a special link to do do. For the same exemple, the person who will build this 75k slots "house in a box" will have to be at Maadi and click the special designed link.

As I saw you guys happy of my sudden brainstorm here, I decided to explain a bit more how it could be implement using some quick adjustements not to unbalance too much the gameplay. Also this could be link to a quest involving trading xps to perform that could allow you to now be available to see the links.

Am I more on the target or with that I'm drowning the idea? Your thoughts or optimizing ideas? Thx for the eventual input!
