| The rumors are true. I have recently purchased Syrnia.
First and foremost I would like to thank M2H for 2 things:
1) The creation of this game that has been part of my life for over 8 years now
2) Giving me the opportunity to respond in kind by assuring that the game is viable and running well into the foreseeable future.
M2H no longer will be involved with Syrnia in any capacity other than the fact that he created this game that so many of us love to play. Many know this was one of his first creations and as time has gone on and his career has grown other endeavors have taken his time. Because of this, he and I came to an agreement, worked out the details and I now am in the process of finalizing the transfer of all game details to me.
While I know there will be a lot of excitement about this at first and then we will go back to our normal grumpy attitudes, I would like to take this time to give you a few of my visions for the short and long term.
In the short term, we will be learning our way around in the coding and other technical aspects of the game. This will take some time and as we get better and smarter we will begin to address some of the glitches and issues that we experience regularly while playing the game. Some slight modifications to the rules will also be coming. Some new staff members will be immediately added to address certain areas.
Long term we will look at more items, islands, updates, quests and all the bells and whistles but until the small stuff is done there will be no big stuff coming.
Many of you know me, many of you do not. For all, here is a bit of background so you can understand how I will move forward. I have been in management positions for most of my life. I am a big believer in structure. My main focus will be to find the right people for the right jobs. Once they are in place, I allow those people to judge the amount of help they need, the direction that they wish to go and I oversee the work being done. Many have already offered assistance in many areas going forward and I thank you. I have selected a few key people to move us forward. It will be their responsibility to let me know when they need additional help. Yes, I am a bit of a control freak but only with respect to what I wish to have done, not in how it is accomplished.
I know there are tons of comments and questions. I will do my best to keep the community up to date and informed of things going forward. Again, so we are clear, we are just finalizing everything now and some things are still in the process of being transferred. We will move forward as we can and when it makes sense.
